A framework on ontology integration

Published: 08 November 2010 Publication History

Abstract

Ontology is the specification and classification of information in a particular domain. For web-based applications, information sharing is always the key issue. In this paper, a new methodology for ontology integration based on the tree structure is introduced. The methodology is designed to map objects through attribute comparison. It combines the object-oriented concept into the ontology mapping process, and relies on the tree structure to further improve the accuracy of the mapping. It is demonstrated in the paper that this tree structure based integration has a high accuracy in ontology mapping compared with other methodologies in the area.
