ABSTRACT
This paper describes a method to visualize sound using beamforming (Acoustic Camera). After a short introduction the simplest beamforming method (delay and sum) will be illustrated. Furthermore, the transition from the two-dimensional to the three-dimensional acoustic mapping will be described. Prerequisite for this is a 3D-model which can be created quickly and cost-efficiently with a 3D-scanner.

Mapping of Acoustic Noise and Microwave Radiation
AbstractPassive sensor systems are attractive for monitoring due to the absence of probing emissions. Two passive systems: an acoustic camera, manufactured by Brüel & Kjær Sound and Vibration Measurement A/S and a microwave radiometer are considered in ...
Predictive Acoustic Tracking with an Adaptive Neural Mechanism
Tracking an acoustic signal in motion is pertinent in several domains such as human-robot interaction and search-and-rescue robotics. Conventional approaches to acoustic tracking acquire time-of-arrival-difference signals from multi-microphone arrays ...
Theory and perceptual evaluation of the binaural reproduction and beamforming tradeoff in the generalized spherical array beamformer
Microphone arrays are widely used in speech enhancement systems for noisy and reverberant environments. Recently, a generalized spherical array beamforming approach was developed incorporating binaural sound reproduction in the beamforming process. This ...
