Abstract

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 2011 ACM International Workshop on Interactive Multimedia on Mobile and Portable Devices -- IMMPD'11. Following the successful events previously organized by the workshop organizers, this year's workshop brings together researchers from both academia and industry in domains including computer vision, audio and speech processing, machine learning, pattern recognition, communications, human-computer interaction, and media technology to share and discuss recent advances in interactive multimedia.

The call for papers attracted 13 submissions from United States, Europe, Japan, Taiwan, and China. A number of leading companies, such as Nokia, NTT, and Sharp, contributed their recent research results. The program committee accepted 7 papers (6 regular papers and 1 poster paper) that cover a variety of topics, including mobile video streaming, interactive display, image/video summarization and organization on mobile devices, and mobile video browsing. We hope that these proceedings will serve as a valuable reference for researchers and developers in this field.
