Performance of the LAD methods under channel impairments

Published: 26 October 2011 Publication History

Abstract

Spectrum sensing is one possibility to find unused frequencies in the cognitive radio concept. A good spectrum sensing method offers good performance with reasonable computational complexity that enables real-life implementation. The localization algorithm based on double-thresholding (LAD) methods are blind, effective and computationally attractive methods that have been proposed to be used in spectrum sensing. In this paper, we will perform real-life measurements at WLAN bands to verify the performance of LAD methods in the situations when the channel suffers impairments like multipath and Doppler. The tests verify that the LAD methods perform very well even in this kind of difficult situations.
