Effectuation of wireless sensor networks for human rescue missions using RF signal detection

Published:18 December 2011Publication History

ABSTRACT

This paper provides a comprehensive approach towards efficiently managing Human Rescue Missions after disasters by detecting cell phones beneath the debris of collapsed buildings, thereby indicating probable human presence. The system employs the combined use of Wireless Sensor Networks and RF Signal Detection to provide a high speed, energy efficient and cost-effective solution as compared to several conventional methods.
