ABSTRACT
Facing the still unclear growth regularity of blooms, we propose rapid lightweight estimating method for the discovery of algae blooms. An application-specific approximate algorithm for timely dispatching salvaging boats is designed to minimize the total cleanup time.

Demo: Tethys -- An Energy Harvesting Networked Water Flow Sensor
SenSys '15: Proceedings of the 13th ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor SystemsWe describe Tethys, an energy-harvesting wireless water flow sensor that can monitor water use at a per-fixture level with the intention of associating water use with specific individuals. Tethys was motivated by recent efforts at Stanford University to ...
The Expected Competitive Ratio for Weighted Completion Time Scheduling
AbstractA set of n independent jobs is to be scheduled without preemption on m identical parallel machines. For each job j, a diffuse adversary chooses the distribution Fj of the random processing time Pj from a certain class of distributions Fj. The ...
The Oxidizing Removal of the Fourth Instar Larvae of Chironomus Kiiensis in Drinking Water
ESIAT '09: Proceedings of the 2009 International Conference on Environmental Science and Information Application Technology - Volume 02Chironomus kiiensis larvae which cannot be exterminated by conventional disinfection process propagates prolifically in eutrophic water body, and it therefore turns to be a potential problem encountered in drinking water quality. In this paper, the ...
