A BIBO ontology extension for evaluation of scientific research results

Published: 16 September 2012 Publication History

Abstract

The paper addresses the issue of semantic description of the bibliographic data in RDF and OWL. More precisely, the paper focuses on presenting scientific research results together with their evaluation and quantitative expression. The existing ontologies that are commonly used for describing bibliographic data are Dublin Core, FOAF and BIBO. The paper gives a proposal for presenting data for evaluation of scientific results as an extension of the BIBO ontology. The purpose of the research in this paper is going towards research management system integration in terms of evaluation of scientific research results for individuals and institutions.
