Partnership between center for online learning (COL) and office of information technology: user support services (OIT-USS)

Published:15 October 2012Publication History

ABSTRACT

How did Portland State University (PSU) achieve success with limited resources when it comes to LMS support? Portland State University implemented Desire2Learn (D2L) in the summer of 2010. There are currently 1,340 activated courses, with an average of 17,670 unique student accounts and about 3,423 unique faculty and teacher assistant log ins. Historically LMS support was provided by the Center for Online Learning (COL) and Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) and the Help Desk. These three units were in three different buildings. These units reported to three different management structures. This proved to be very confusing and frustrating to the users.
