Shared-TV: a framework to develop converged TV-centric applications

Abstract

As plataformas de TVs Conectadas vem abrindo novos caminhos e oportunidades no desenvolvimento de aplicações interativas. Entretanto, os aplicativos hoje disponíveis não exploram todo potencial da interatividade na TV. Esses são projetados visando o uso do controle remoto convencional, permitindo apenas a participação de um usuário por vez. Este trabalho apresenta um framework que facilita o desenvolvimento de aplicativos interativos convergentes centrados na TV, onde os usuários podem interagir através dos seus dispositivos remotos. O framework proposto, chamado de Shared-TV, possibilita a criação de aplicativos distribuídos nas plataformas GoogleTV e Ginga-J, abstraindo a complexidade inerente à camada de comunicação e gerenciamento dos dispositivos. O desenvolvedor especifica o comportamento de smartphones e tablets a partir da aplicação de TV, não sendo necessário desenvolver as aplicações móveis. Ao final, algumas aplicações são apresentadas e um comparativo do desenvolvimento com e sem o uso do Shared-TV é realizado.
