Ah, how nice it would be just to show you a drawing. The verbal description is my attempt to avoid the considerable effort required to find the elusive French artist, Jacques Carelman, who thought of the idea and has a wonderful picture in his book. I used a lot of his drawings in The Design of Everyday Things, but getting permission was a nightmare I do not wish to repeat.
