Abstract

This paper gives an overview of some cyber security challenges in a electric system that need to be addressed as the grid evolves. Understanding what the threats are and formalizing attacks is the first challenge. The peculiarity of a power network, which include software, hardware and humans, leads to the need for developing new methodologies for security and resilience. In this extended abstract we present our current efforts in addressing data integrity attacks, detection and countermeasures together with an agenda of our future research.
