X3D based playground configurator

Published: 20 June 2013 Publication History

Abstract

This paper describes what a configurator is, the benefits they offer and how a web 3D playground configurator is implemented based on X3D technology. The resulting configurator offers the following features: ground design, placement of different kinds of elements, different type of collision detection regarding safety distances, photorealistic image rendering.
