On expanded citations

Published: 16 September 2014 Publication History

Abstract

In this paper we propose a new kind of citation called the expanded citation. These citations link scientific papers like traditional citations and, in addition, link concepts from the papers. We present examples of the expanded citations and discuss the idea. The expanded citations are represented in RDF and are included in so-called concept networks which can be treated as an extension of citation networks.
