The importance of training for the promotion and development of digital reading literacy: the case of the 'territorio ebook'

ABSTRACT

Recently, we have found an exponential growth in the practice of digital reading. There are several factors that have contributed to these practices them being the culture, technology and politics. Over time more publications are being made in digital format, electronic devices encourage the evolution of reading and readers are more receptive to this new form of consuming information.

Within this perspective a scenario has been established: it extremely necessary to promote, to develop this type of reading literacy and to train the readers.

These communication has the intent to expose paths outlined in the European environment for achieve this goals, making emphasis in Spain. Therefore, was divided into three parts: European public initiatives, Spanish public initiatives, and culminating with a case study which highlight a success story in the creation of digital literature conducted by Fundación Germán Sanchez Ruipérez through the program "Territorio Ebook - Ebook y Biblioteca".

The main conclusion was understand that for the experiments to be successful and equitable among all the organizational structures is important that the state and the private initiatives assume the role of supporters and advisors, it is necessary that this two agents work to promote this kind of reader experience.
