Tell Me About Autism: Autism Resources for India

Published: 05 December 2014 Publication History

Abstract

In India there is a general lack of information about autism and a lot of social stigma associated with it. Some online resources are available, but there is no up-to-date digital storehouse for pertinent information. To fill this gap, we developed a crowd-sourced centralized content repository. Besides national/state/city wide resources, we also have a question and answer forum, a Public Service Announcement (PSA) in 10 Indian languages and a variety of media content related to autism. In this paper we discuss the wiki's development along with some interesting social computing and computational questions that have arisen.
