Assistive Wearable Technology for Visually Impaired

Published: 24 August 2015 Publication History

Abstract

In this workshop paper the authors argument for the use of smart wearable technology for assisting visually impaired users. They sketch up a scenario in which ubiquitous Bluetooth Low Energy beacons are used to assist in indoor and outdoor navigation. They also report from the implementation of such a system and describe how it can be enhanced in future development.
