Adaptation and Mobility in Wireless Information Systems: After 20 Years

Published: 23 December 2015 Publication History

Abstract

About 20 years ago, I wrote "Adaptation and Mobility in Wireless Information Systems" for the very first issue of the IEEE Personal Communications Magazine [1]. From today's perspective, with our experience of smartphones, pervasive Wi-Fi and LTE wireless Internet access, and "video to your palm," it is difficult to conceive of the primitive state of wireless and mobile systems of that time.
