IT2017 Report: Panel Discussion

Published: 06 May 2016 Publication History

Abstract

Seven years have passed since the final publication of the ACM-IEEE information technology (IT) four-year curricula guidelines (IT2008) [1]. In 2013, the ACM Education Board mandated the Task Group for Information Technology Curriculum to write a new model curriculum to be published in 2017 for deployment in Universities and Colleges in 2020. In this panel, the first draft of the IT2017 curriculum will be presented and the issues surrounding adoption of model curricula including how to adapt it to a specific situation and addressing industry needs will be discussed.
