It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2016 ACM International Conference on Multimedia Retrieval -- ICMR'16. This year's conference continues a 17-year tradition of being the premier forum for presentation of research results and experience reports on multimedia retrieval research, systems, and users. This annual international conference, started in 2011, continues the leadership of the two former ACM CIVR (from 2002) and ACM MIR (from 2000) series in state-of-the-art developments in the analysis, storage, comparison, retrieval, and presentation of image, video, audio, and text working together on diverse platforms.

The call for papers attracted over 230 submissions from across the world.

We also encourage attendees to attend the keynote talk and industry presentations.
