Channel Estimation Algorithm based on Distance Judgement and Remainder Compensation in OFDM System

Published: 26 November 2016 Publication History

Abstract

Channel estimation accuracy is an important index of the communication reliability in OFDM system. This paper adopted the improved DFT estimator to get the channel frequency response (CFR) of the pilot subcarriers. After that, interpolation algorithm is needed to get the CFR of the non-pilot subcarriers. With the increase of the order of interpolation filter, however, the growth of interpolation accuracy becomes very limited. To solve this problem, the proposed algorithm improves the interpolation accuracy by using Newton interpolation method based on polynomial remainder compensation. The simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm can effectively resist the inter-symbol interference (ISI) and the inter-subcarrier interference (ICI). And the floor of bit error rate (BER) was further reduced.
