ABSTRACT

It is common knowledge that the interaction of the elderly with technological devices presents limitations mainly arising from issues inherent to their age, such as vision, hearing, motor, cognitive and haptic problems, which can be analyzed by using a number of both qualitative and quantitative methods and techniques. This research presents the results of the application of the qualitative analysis technique called 'Empathy Map' as a means to explore, get to know, and empathize, from the perspective of a person of old age, his interaction with technology; more specifically, with a Smartphone.
