Impact of Life-style on Health and Physical Capability: A Data Mining Approach

Published: 27 March 2018 Publication History

Abstract

In this paper, the impact of life-style habits (behavioral including sleep, eating, body type, physical activities and health condition) on an individual's health in terms of physical capabilities is studied using data mining techniques. The study aims at finding and recommending the best life-style habits that will help an individual maintain good health and wellness. The study was an unsupervised one, as we had no class attribute. Hence, a-priori, simple k-means, and decision trees were used. The results showed that different techniques give different interesting models and patterns. This study concludes that data mining plays an important role in analyzing medical data.
