Suitcase traceability system via RFID and NoSQL database: Middleware, Mobile application

Published: 10 October 2018 Publication History

Abstract

In this work, we discuss various issues related to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Given current concerns, we address the general concepts and realization & implementation. In the general concepts, we give different definitions, Radio Frequency Identification components, operating principle, architecture and advantages. The second part of the work presents the realization of a traceability system based on a RFID middleware named BTMiddleware designed for collecting and filtering large amounts of data from objects carrying the RFID tags plus a mobile application allowing travelers to follow their baggage from their smartphone, the interest is obvious for those who are worried, rightly, the risk of loss, but it is also a tool for airlines to find lost luggage more easily.
