Enhanced Expression and Interaction of Paper Tourism Maps Based on Augmented Reality for Emergency Response

Published: 24 October 2018 Publication History

Abstract

In recent years, tourism informatization has become the key point and the frontier of theoretical research in the construction of smart tourism in various regions of China. With the development of computer technology and the emergence of augmented reality technology, enhanced paper tourism map has become a novel way of map expression and interaction. At first, this paper describes the principle of enhancing tourism map and proposes a scheme of paper tourism map enhanced expression based on AR technology. Then the combination of AR technology and paper tourism map has been discussed as the key content. Finally, the tourist attractions of Jiashan County of Zhejiang Province is taken as a case study to implement a smart tourism AR application system, which presents various approaches of map expression and interaction, expanding the information as well as cognitive function of paper tourism maps. Augmented tourism maps enable meaningful integration between smart mobile devices and paper tourism maps, providing a hyper-real, immersive and virtual travelling experience, offering quick and effective solutions for future smart emergency response.
