Implementation of Remote Residential-Electric-Meter Reading System Using LoRa

Published: 24 October 2018 Publication History

Abstract

In this paper, the authors introduce an IoT system related to remoteresidential-electric-meter reading based on Long Range (LoRa). This system combines LoRa devices with an electrical-measurement sensor to acquire information about voltage, current, and electric capacity among other parameters. This remote wireless electrical-measurement system based on LoRa resolves the shortcomings and reduces the labor cost of the traditional electric-meter-reading system. The design of the hardware, structure of the entire system, network mode for connection between an end node and the server, and a data-visualization interface are introduced herein.
