How Regional Factors Shape the Purpose of Educational Assistance: A Case-study of Shennongjia Experimental Middle School in Hubei Province

ABSTRACT

This research investigates how regional factors shape the purpose, including the necessity and approach, of educational assistance via a case-study of Shennongjia experimental middle school, in Hubei province. In this research, "Educational expectations" and "independent management in student organizations" are selected as regional factors due to its significance in education both in China and abroad; furthermore, educational assistance is divided into "guidance educational assistance" and "empowerment educational assistance". The research is focused on the research question "How 'educational expectations' and 'Independent management in student organizations', as regional factors, shape local educational assistance purpose?". The researcher analyzed semi-structured questionnaires and interviews results, then offered suggestions to the case-study in educational assistance necessity and approach.
