The Use of Audiovisual Method for Classroom Practices in Indonesia High School Context

Abstract

This study aims at describing the implementation of the audiovisual method as classroom practices and observing students' engagement during the implementation of the method. This research is self-observational study which involves one class that consists of 36 high school students. Data were obtained from the activities and assignments that were given to the students, the topic of the given assignments and activities related to basic competence that is designed by Indonesia's government, which is Intentional Expression that involved ways of asking and giving intention. In this study, it is found out that fun and contextual learning play an important role which could makes students more active and motivated in following the learning process. The implementation of audiovisual method as learning media was found less in classroom.
