Analyzing Bilingual and "Taglish" Texts in E-barangay Mobile Application System

Abstract

In this paper, the texts sent by bilingual users (i.e., Filipino and English languages) using the e-barangay mobile application system were analyzed. E-barangay is an e-government mobile-based system that empowers local community dwellers to send their complaints and suggestions (i.e., the texts) to the local government authorities. It is found that there were more complaint texts than suggestion texts. It is also revealed that the system is capable of analyzing the texts accurately but improvements in the system are still desirable. Future studies are also presented.
