Teaching Scrum with a Virtual Sprint Simulation: Initial Design and Considerations

Abstract

Scrum is a well-developed and utilized agile project management framework, which requires extensive training and hands-on experience to master. The latter is not always possible, i.e. during the recent lockdown due to COVID-19. Thus, we propose the creation of a multi-user collaborative virtual simulation of a Scrum sprint that can provide an immersive training experience to remote trainees. Herein, we discuss the design considerations, elements of the virtual learning environment and the development process for the platform.
