The 9th international conference on Informatics, Environment, Energy and Applications, IEEA 2020, was held from March 13-16 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The concept of this conference is to cover a wealth of subjects that all fit under the umbrella of research related to the environment. Correspondingly, different approaches have been presented across many scientific disciplines. How interdisciplinary this field is can be seen for example in the subject that this year's advisory chair, C. Veje of the University of Southern Denmark is specialized in: Energy Informatics, which combines already two of the major fields IEEA aims to cover. The contributions to IEEA then covered fields as diverse as instrumentation, modelling, and finally controlling and evaluation, and all of them using different forms of verification, which almost always meant applications of advanced computing methodologies.
