ABSTRACT

Utilization of technology and information is the right thing to provide accurate information. The role of GIS (Geographic Information System) technology has begun to be utilized in all fields, one of which is in oil palm plantations. The use of Geographic Information Systems is very helpful and has a very important role, starting from the management of the garden, knowing the potential of the land to monitoring the development, planning the garden and verification of oil palm. In oil palm plantations, important crop conditions are considered including the number of plants and the level of plant density in one block. If the number of plants and the level of plant density in the blocks do not meet the standards, then the potential for production is not optimal. For palm oil plantations included as early as possible so that the distance of growth of plants inserted by early palm oil still lives not too far away. This study aims to create a geographic information system to accelerate the identification and delivery of information on the number of oil palm plants, dead or sick plants and android application to facilitate the insertion officers in performing maintenance diseased palm trees or insertion. This system uses spatial data represented by map drawings and symbols so that the delivery of information is more easily accepted by users. The results of data collection are analyzed and used as a reference for making a system. The results of this design can be used as a tool in the decision making process so as to maintain the sustainability of the number of productive oil palm plants so that crop productivity is in accordance with established standards. The use of information systems and android applications in the process of maintaining and inserting oil palm plants makes working methods in plantations more effective and efficient because the data they possess are precise data.
