Research on Simulation Model of Metro Emergency Evacuation Behavior Considering Small Groups

Published: 06 August 2020 Publication History

Abstract

With the popularity of subway, a large number of passengers stay in the subway station. When an emergency occurs, passengers evacuation behavior have the characteristics of small groups. Therefore, the panic factor is added on the classic social force, and the expected speed of small group evacuation is improved in this paper. The improved model is more close to the actual situation of pedestrian movement characteristics. This paper takes a station accident as an example to study the influence of small group behavior with panic state on emergency evacuation of subway. The simulation results show that different panic factor and small group size have significant impact on evacuation time and evacuation rate. The larger the size group, the longer the evacuation time. Thus, the passenger stay time becomes longer in the station.
