Powering Up Interactivity in the Use of PowerPoint within an Educational Context

Published:01 October 2020Publication History

ABSTRACT

PowerPoint has become a ubiquitous presence both during class and now after class, with slides becoming class notes and the option of voice-over recordings aiding blended learning strategies. In all of these applications, PowerPoint remains a linear device for imparting pre-determined, often rigidly scheduled collections of information. In this concept paper, the authors explore an alternative, non-linear use of PowerPoint as adaptable to organic discussions by students, with the ability to react to responses. The paper also includes the use of non-technological aids that are useful in the application of this use of PowerPoint.
