Cloud-based standardized device diagnostics for optimized operability of plants in the process industry: Cloud based self-monitoring and diagnosis of the field devices

Published:07 October 2020Publication History

ABSTRACT

Keeping an industrial process plant up and running can be quite costly and time-consuming. Since unforeseen breakdowns account for 5% of the annual production costs in the process industry [1], it is crucial to maintain the reliable plant's operation. The reliability of a plant depends on the performance of its devices and instrumentation. Monitoring the health status of the devices is essential to avoid unplanned downtimes. The demonstration aims to showcase a cloud-based application that provides comprehensive information about the device health status and other relevant details for easy plant handling and better operability.
