Internet +: 5G Network Slicing Technology for Smart Grid

Published: 25 December 2020 Publication History

Abstract

The proposal and development of energy Internet has a profound impact on human production and life style. The development of smart grid has become the focus of the community. In modern power system, optical fiber communication is widely used in the power communication system of high voltage transmission line, which realizes the interconnection between power equipment. However, the distribution system has complex structure and many intelligent terminal devices, so there is no unified communication standard to realize the interconnection of power equipment and information. The fifth generation cellular communication network (5G) officially put into commercial use means that 5G technology is gradually mature. This paper takes the key technology of 5Gcommunication network - Network slicing technology as an example, analyzes the key technology of network slicing and the communication network application scenario of smart grid, discusses the application of 5G network slicing technology in smart grid. Combined with the existing research results, the application prospect of 5G network slicing technology in smart grid is preliminarily forecasted.
