Research on backup and concurrency control technology of embedded database

Abstract

With the development of computer hardware and wireless communication, the technology of mobile computation has achieved revolutionary progress. It enables us to acquire information at any time and anywhere even in the wireless condition. In the mobile computing environment, servers, as the owner of data objects, may have multiple physical copies of the same object in the memories of different clients, which makes it possible for mobile device to work offline, and also can reduce traffic. However it also brings about the problem of consistency. In order to resolve it, this paper proposes a method of using embedded concurrency control technology to improve protocols. Especially, we focused on discussing the validity of data. We also conducted the performance analysis and comparison of the two standard protocols, namely the Server-based Two-Phase Locking (S2PL) protocol and the Call-Back Locking (CBL) protocol.
