A Method for Contribution Measurement in Digital Ecosystem

Published: 09 November 2021 Publication History

Abstract

There has been massive growth in the Digital Transformation (DX) market. A digital ecosystem is a concept to realize DX with digital solutions. The key issue to expand a digital ecosystem are developers' lack of motivation to register and improve their solutions. One proposal to tackle this is providing incentives to encourage developers. The activities of developers can be used as a reference for providing incentives such as monetary rewards, ratings, etc. Existing ecosystems and OSS communities do measure developer's contribution to their community. However, they concentrate mainly on development contributions. Thus, we proposed a scoring-based method that incentivizes developers to contribute to factors affecting ecosystem expansion by calculating a contribution score considering solution metrics. The proposed method was evaluated in a simulated Digital Ecosystem environment.
