ABSTRACT

This paper mainly discusses the transmission performance of terrestrial digital multimedia-television broadcasting (DTMB) and Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial (DVB-T). The Modulation Error Ratio (MER) was discussed using different carrier modulation QPSK, 16QAM and 64QAM under a noise Ratio of -30dB. The PN Sequence patterns of the protected interval were 420 symbols and 945 symbols, respectively. The bandwidth is 8MHz. The experimental results show that DTMB becomes the highest in QPSK, and MER is about 37.6dB higher than DVB-T by about 3dB, and is capable of supporting multiple services with different quality of service requirements.
