Nowadays, in the era of social media, YouTube started to be booming as one. For the platform is presenting videos, viewers might get involved in feelings and mind. Like other social media, YouTube enables people to interact with each other. As they interact, the hate-speeches often happen. If the viewers’ feelings involved bring conveniences, they most probably give positive reactions and comments. On the other hand, if the viewers’ feelings involved bring inconveniences, they most probably give negative reactions, i.e., hate-speeches in the comments’ column. This study aims to obtain a comprehensive description of Binus university students' (Binusian 2021) abilities to manage themselves and willing or not to involve in hate speech. The total respondents’ number are 185 from 12 departments. The research used surveys by questionnaires and processed by the quantitative method using the Likert scale and SPSS tool. The questionnaires are valid (corrected item-total correlation is 0.463 (> 0.250)) and reliable (α=0.848). The results ultimately showed that a total of 73.92% of the total respondents had a positive speech in establishing communication in YouTube as social media, 19.55% was neutral. Only 4.07 % of respondents were still alright for using hate-speech on YouTube.
