Pandemics and New Potential Changes in the Future of Public Schools in Egypt

Published: 29 June 2021 Publication History

Abstract

The coronavirus “COVID-19” pandemic crisis has made a fundamental change in all over the world. In particular, education has been disrupted temporarily which has impacted almost 90% of the world's students in several countries. The pandemic has imposed many changes in the landscape of education systems worldwide. It will be essential to study and measure these changes to rethink design, use, and dealing with the “New Normal”. The educational spaces will witness significant changes during and post-COVID-19. The main question of this paper is: Will we return to the traditional schools' design in Egypt or move to a new path focused on student wellbeing and reducing upcoming pandemics impacts? This study aims to highlight the concerns about the condition of public schools in Egypt and investigate the potential changes and challenges facing the government now and in the future.
