Published: 25 April 2021 Publication History

Abstract

Early childhood gross motor development is as important as other aspects of development. The writing of this article is motivated by the lack of gross motor learning activities in early childhood. The objective to be achieved in this article is to develop motion and song activities to improve the gross motor skills of young children. The method used is literature study. The results of this study can be seen that gross motor development in children is a stimulus for children so that children can control body movements and coordination. Motion becomes a very creative thing when combined with music interpreted by children in their respective ways. By learning through movement, the child can learn about himself and his world. Therefore the teacher must also provide appropriate stimulation so that the child's motor development can be stimulated properly and motion and song activities are activities that require children to move as well as gymnastics and sports activities. Through movement and song activities the teacher can improve gross motor skills in children.
