Digital Learning for Early Years in Urban Family: A Qualitative Exploratory Study Across Four Urban Family

Abstract

A number of children in early years go on online and being active user in a wide range of world even some children under 7 years did play youtube, tiktok or other social media. This research aims to explore condition, experiences with technologies of early years children and controlling parents to their children in Kudus city, Province of Central Java, Indonesia. Six children was about 3 - 8 ages with different background working of parents (PNS, Doctor, Entrepreneur and Employees). This research using methods of qualitative exploratory study which results and discuss the findings that at different condition of background family on children, those are three family such as parents of PNS, Doctor and Entrepenur background take a role as parents to control children whose engage with digital technologies media (computer, tablets, or smartphone); some parents also mediate their awareness and this engagement to low the risks-opportunities balance when children using their gadget. This research conclusion that role parents have to a intimate mediate children importantly when they using technology especially using regularly.
