A Needs Analysis of Problem-Based Physic Modules of Senior High School

Published: 25 April 2021 Publication History

Abstract

This research aims at discovering the necessity of teaching materials and learning models or methods that are needed and suitable for students in Physics learning at Senior High School. This research is a part of the development research with the ADDIE method. The first stage is a needs analysis using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis. The data are collected from observation, document, and questionnaire. The data analysis shows that students' interest in Physics which is related and useful in daily life is high, despite some difficulties. Experiment and discussion are the most preferred method chosen by the students in Physics learning. Teaching materials in form of Modules using interactive language is expected to help students in Physics learning. The availability of teaching materials in form of problem-based modules with experiment and discussion method through group learning which is arranged systematically and interestingly using interactive language is expected to be able to increase students' learning interest.
