Distributed Carrier Dimming Technology and Its Application in DC Power Lighting Engineering

Published: 17 May 2021 Publication History

Abstract

In order to solve the problem of the DC centralized power solution (DCCPS) existed in the use of power lighting engineering application, a novel distributed carrier dimming technology (DCDT) was proposed. The DCDT realized cost-effective LED lamps' brightness variation of single power electrical circuits by introducing pairs of carrier dimming modules, which were placed in the low voltage AC/DC power distribution cabinet, and the corresponding dimmable DC LED drivers in the lighting apparatus. A practical power lighting engineering project of a metro station proved that the DCCPS based on DCDT was a reasonable effective solution, which could save 80% of the construction time, reach to 100% dimming success rate, and have favorable power quality.
