Will It POGIL? Exploring Group Participation in Synchronous, Online Collaborative Learning

ABSTRACT

Most prior research on effective teaching strategies, such as POGIL, has focused on synchronous, in-person settings. My work aims to study the translation of POGIL activities to a synchronous, online setting to understand how students engage in these activities and whether the best practices found in prior work extend to the online environment.
