ABSTRACT
Digitalization in the public sector has spread widely during the past year, even though efforts towards this were already taking place beforehand. Thus, the gap this research project addresses is the lack of digital innovation research in the public sector in Panama.
The objective is to explore digital innovation perception in the public sector in Panama from different angles. Hence, my main research question looks to understand and analyze how do managers in Panamanian public sector perceive the affordance of digital innovation?
This project is a qualitative case study of the affordances of digital innovations in the public sector in Panama. For the data collection of the study, I will use semi structured interviews and focus groups; but I will also use secondary data from other countries in the Latin American Region, mainly: Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Costa Rica for comparison and a bigger context. I will attempt to understand the data from the view that reality is constructed by different experiences and, as different angles of one issue whilst seeking to discover the perspective of women on it.
