Application of GPR Detection Technology in Beijing Bell and Drum Towers’ Safety Detection

Published: 28 July 2021 Publication History

Abstract

Beijing Bell and Drum Towers have been running for hundreds of years, there are many kinds of diseases after years of baptism. In order to protect it, it is necessary to make statistics and analysis of its structure on the basis of exploration and detection, carry out safety and stability assessment of the structure, and give suggestions for the serviceability treatment based on the current performance. In order to better carry out the foundation survey and stability evaluation, we used Ground penetrating radar(GPR) to carry out the detection of foundation soil and Taiming, respectively, the top surface, ground, wall facade of Taiming were detected in detail. We explored the multi-dimensional exploration technology of ancient architectures in practice. Based on the exploration work, three-dimensional exploration data is obtained, which provides detailed data for the safety detection work.
