Simulation Analysis on Handling Stability of Suspension System of Medium Bus

Published: 13 August 2021 Publication History

Abstract

To analyze the influence of front suspension on handling stability, the front suspension assembly model of a medium bus is established in Adams/ car. Two wheels with different runout of - 50mm ~ 50mm and -50mm ~ 100mm were simulated in the parallel travel, to get the simulation curves of the positioning parameters of the front wheels with different runout, and the variation curves of front-wheel camber, toe-in, kingpin inclination and caster angle, as well as the wheelbase runout and lateral angular stiffness were obtained. Comparing and analyzing the changing curve of each location parameter with time under the condition of -50mm ~ 50mm and-50mm ~ 100mm different runout, as well as the changing trend of wheelbase runout and lateral deflection angle stiffness curve. According to the analysis results, the results show that the following optimization can provide optimization ideas from the distribution of sway bar strength and roll characteristics in front and rear axles, and provide data parameters for further research.
