Analysis of Student Satisfaction with Online Learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic using PLS-SEM

ABSTRACT

Pandemic COVID-19 has been a big storm for the world. The spread of COVID-19 has suspended almost all sectors in human life including education. Because of this, various universities around the world have transferred traditional face to face teaching to online learning platforms. To achieve success in online learning, one of the most important factors is student satisfaction. Based on the previous studies and theories, there are several factors that have significantly affecting student satisfaction in online learning, namely course design, teacher quality, interaction, and technology quality. This study aims to analyze whether course design, teacher quality, interaction during online class, and technology are significantly affecting student satisfaction. This research was conducted at one of the universities in Jakarta, Indonesia by using purposive sampling to collect experience data of online students and analyzed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling method. The results show that course design, teacher quality, interaction, and technology quality are significantly affecting student satisfaction, with teacher quality become the greatest influence. Results also show that improving course design, teacher quality, interaction, and technology quality will increase student satisfaction with online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results also note that improving course design, teacher quality, interaction, and technology quality will improve student satisfaction with online learning during this pandemic COVID-19.
