The second ACM Workshop on Multimodal Conversational AI (MuCAI) gathers a diverse set of contributions that aim to be thought-provoking and provide attendees with a valuable opportunity to share ideas with other researchers and practitioners from institutions worldwide. Putting this workshop into perspective, ACM Multimedia has hosted some of the best scientific contributions in the field of multimodal conversational advances, and this workshop aims to contribute to fostering progress in the area.
MuCAI workshop contributes to a growing research trend in conversational agents and their applications to various domains. Healthcare, assisting technologies, e-commerce, information seeking are some domains where multimodal conversational AI is being explored. The wide use of multimodal conversational agents exposes the many challenges in achieving more natural, humanlike, and engaging conversational agents.
